One-On-One Health Coaching

Have you ever come up with a solid plan to get healthy that you were unable to follow?  Maybe your doctor recommended a lifestyle change that you found to be overwhelming or unsustainable? Is there something in your life that you have always wanted, but have been unable to achieve on your own?  Health Coaching is “a powerful tool that helps you to close the gap from dreaming your dreams to actually achieving them, moving you from where you are now in your life, to where you want to be in the future.”

As your Health Coach…

I will listen carefully and help you to determine what changes are necessary for you.

I will provide a holistic approach to wellness, looking at how all the areas of your life connect and affect your health as a whole. Is a stressful job or a strained relationship causing you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or fatigue prevent you from exercising? Does an underlying health issue make weight loss seem impossible? Are financial stresses leaving you feeling hopeless? We’ll reframe your obstacles as opportunities to grow.

We will not dwell on restriction; I am not about creating lists of goods and bads, do’s and don’ts. Instead, we’ll focus your program on creating a happier healthier version of you in way that is flexible and rewarding.

Having a health coach was one if the best decisions I’ve ever made. I reduced my blood pressure, cholesterol and weight and slept great at night. Britta provided health coaching to me for about 2 years.   Britta is full of great ideas and knowledge in Nutrition coaching and having a healthy diet.  Britta was an inspiration following a heart attack in Spring of 2013.   Britta helped me to achieve better cholesterol numbers along with encouraging me to make smarter nutrition choices.  We focused on making better nutrition choices and eating less fast food and packaged food.  My last appointment with the cardiologist, he changed my time between visits from 6 months to a year and feels that I am doing excellent since the heart attack.   Britta also encouraged me to take breaks in the middle of the work day and get some exercise at a fitness center across the street from where I work.  She said just convinced me that my health and fitness should take priority.   That suggestion alone was so valuable. 4 years later I go exercise in the early afternoon twice a week  for an hour or so.  I have more energy at work, look forward  to my afternoon workouts and feel better about work/life balance.
While working with Britta Lundquist as my health coach, I was setting regular goals and mostly staying on track.  She helped me align on short term goals that were important to me and she held me accountable to them.  Britta answered my questions and provided me with helpful and insightful information.  She pushed me to be honest with myself about why I was or wasn’t doing what I knew I needed to do to successfully reach my goals.  She challenged me in fun and thought provoking ways to continue my journey to become a happier and healthier person.  No matter what, she was always someone that I knew was in my corner providing encouragement, support and when needed, a kick in the rear.   Health coaching got me on track and helped me to maintain a healthy lifestyle while providing me the guidance and accountability I needed to stick with my overall life goals of health and happiness.
