Sticky Note Corner

Dear Rich and Rejuv Team,

Thank you for working with me this summer. It has really helped so far this season and will definitely improve my times during the rest of the year. I really enjoyed having such a supportive and fun environment to work out in. All the people who work at Rejuv are some of the most enjoyable and supportive to be around. I hope I will be able to do more HARDcore Programs in the future. Thanks again for helping me this summer, I really felt like I learned many new things about working out and healthy eating.

Isaac Pelzer - Basketball

"Hi, my name is Isaac Pelzer, I played basketball for Upsala High School and now at Bemidji State University. Last season my dad told me about this HARDcore program and then enrolled me into it. As I participated in the program, I began to WANT to workout! The Personal Trainers were able to push me to work harder. They are AWESOME! Because of the HARDcore Program, I have increased my vertical by 3 inches and I got a lot stronger and quicker."

Brittani Maki - Gymnast

Brittany Ma
I joined the HARDcore program in the Spring of 2010, while I was in Gymnastics and Dance. I was looking for something that was challenging and something that would push me. I also wanted a program that would effectively improve my performance. I soon found myself running faster to the vault, lifting more, and I began to find it easier to perform at a higher level. I have been in sport my entire life, and I have never been this strong. I have gained muscle and strength, yet I have improved my endurance. These extra levels of energy keep me going through my busy schedule of work, school, and activities.
When I go to the gym on my own I tend to slack off, especially when things get tough. Because of what I learned from the HARDcore Program, I have been motivated to push past my self-imposed limits. This program also ensures that I am using proper form to get the most out of every movement. The extra encouragement from Rich to lift heavier or go longer, challenges me more than I could on my own.  The support and extra motivation from a trainer pushes me to continually improve my performance.

HARDcore Accelerated Athletic Training Programs

Whether you are the weekend warrior or the elite athlete who needs peak performance to crush the competition, Rejuv HARDcore is for you.  It is a very competitive world and it is time to bring the science of training to your side to maximize ability and athletic gains.  A Sports Medicine Physician, Physical Therapists, Exercise Physiologist, Athletic Trainers and Certified Personal Trainers developed our sports specific program that incorporates the latest technology and scientific research on performance, injury prevention (prehab), and sports specific nutrition.  Together, these pieces enable your body to increase lean muscle while developing optimal endurance, strength and power.

Every individual athlete and sport has specific needs.  The HARDcore team has analyzed the needs of each sport and will use pretesting results to create a unique program for each athlete.  A lean, fast and powerful body is half the battle.  We also target the mental aspects of training and competition so you can outwit your competitors.  Our mission is to maximize your potential in mind and body so you will have the HARDcore edge you need to succeed!

We now offer HARDcore training at our 7,800 sqft performance center.  Rejuv Medical Weight Loss and Performance Center is the only facility in central Minnesota utilizing CORMAX equipment.  This elite equipment is currently being used by professional athletic teams to incorporate high intensity, multi-joint, explosive movements to gain peak performance.  Training takes place using open space with astro turf for sprints, stretches, agility and plyometrics. We combine traditional weightlifting techniques with creative total body exercises to simulate muscle firing needed for sports performance.  The HARDcore team can also come to your training facility if applicable.

Nutrition:

With athletic performance you are what you eat.  Healthy eating is essential for anabolic muscle growth, weight loss and to improve overall health/fitness.  Typical diets are high in sugar, sodium and saturated fats, which deprive your body of the nutrients and energy it needs to reach its full potential.  Rejuv will educate you on eating meals that are healthy and balanced.

HARDcore Program entails:

  • Individual pre-testing to screen body vulnerabilities for injury prevention
  • Statistical testing in speed, strength and agility will track athletic progress
  • 3 days per week of 1 hour training sessions with an Exercise Physiologist, Athletic Trainer and Certified Personal Trainers
  • Off-day training programs tailored to the specific needs of each athlete
  • Prehab training designed by Physical Therapists to prevent injuries
  • Nutritional seminars with a Registered Dietitian to maximize sports potential
  • Motivation and accountability in a team building environment

Additional Services Offered:

  • Exercise performance testing with an Exercise Physiologist (VO2max, Lactate Profiling, Peak Power Output, Metabolic Testing, Spirometry)
  • An additional weekly Saturday session focused on high intensity weight training to increase an athletes power and explosive strength
  • Priority appointments with Sports Medicine Physician and Physical Therapists if needed

About Performance Testing:

  • Lactate Profiling
Lactate is a parameter that is measured within the blood via fingerprick technique and directly represents an athlete’s acidic load after anabolic exercise.

Lactate values are paired with corresponding heart rates and work rates to produce accurate training zones.  Personalized zones will allow the athlete to target the specific energy systems and lead to improved athletic performance with decrease muscle fatigue and injury.  This test is most beneficial for athletes involved in biking, running or other endurance activities.

  • VO2max
Oxygen consumption (VO2) represents the ability of the body to transport and utilize oxygen at the cellular level and is considered the best indicator of cardiovascular fitness and aerobic power.  The test is short in duration, with increasing progression of intensity while measuring ventilation and gas exchange.  Re-evaluation of VO2 will monitor the benefits of training and help to modify their programs for maximal gains.  This test is most beneficial for endurance athletes.

  • Peak Power Output
Power is a measure of the amount of work done by a muscle group or person in a given amount of time.  Anaerobic athletes, such as hockey or football players, are most interested in their peak power or maximal power recorded during a test since their sports require intense, quick bursts of power.

Our featured CORMAX equipment allows us to measure and track power through a variety of mechanisms that mimic sport specific situations, allowing for more precise training.

  • Spirometry
Spirometry measures overall lung function and can aid in the detection and diagnosis of exercise induced asthma and other  lung disorders that can inhibit athletic performance.

  • Metabolic Testing
Metabolic testing measures the base amount of calories needed at rest to maintain a current weight or body composition.  Based off the results an individual can increase or decrease caloric intake properly and safely for their desired results of weight loss or muscle gain.

CORMAX BALISTIC TRAINING

CORMAX is the leader in athletic training equipment.  Their safety cylinder adjusts the speed and resistance of each lift to prevent an athlete from mishandling or dropping the weight.  This allows the athletes to accelerate through the lifting motion.and release the weights in a variety of exercises and combinations of lifts to develop explosive strength.   This muscle confusion leads to increased muscle firing speeds, strength, power and performance.  CORMAX also electronically measures lifting results in order for each athlete to gain maximal results.
