Fiber: Why is fiber so important? At Rejuv Medical we have a lot of patients who express that they have always struggled to lose weight. They may be diabetic, have high blood pressure, and other risk factors; but the take home on fiber is that there are two types of fiber. There is a soluble fiber and an insoluble fiber. You will need to be sure you purchase a product that has the blend of both fiber sources, because both the soluble and insoluble are very important. Soluble fiber is the one that is absorbed into the body; it decreases blood sugars, and reduces insulin spikes, which directly leads to decreased fat and weight loss. The insoluble fiber actually bulks up the stools and pulls everything through your body. What it's going to do is pull out the bad cholesterol, the dirty hormones, and toxins to help clean your body out. The important thing with fiber is to shoot for about 50 grams of total fiber in a day. Each scoop is roughly 15 grams of fiber. We recommend taking it once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The remaining amount of fiber should come from your daily consumption of whole foods such as vegetable.
