Ultrasound’s unique real-time capability permits examinationand diagnosis during movement, and allows for guidance of needles during treatment. The exquisite resolution created bystate-of-the-art scanners and high-frequency transducers makes musculoskeletal ultrasound a powerful tool in the diagnosis of injury and pain in soft tissue and joints. It is done at Rejuv Medicalwithout the need for x-ray exposure or MRI. If needed, we can alsouse it for needle guidance to the injured tissue or joint during aprocedure. This allows for increased accuaracy during treatments.

Well, in sports medicine we have now the new “Star Wars” it’s called the musculoskeletal ultrasound. We can see inside your joint in real time. I can see your joint moving. We take the ultrasound; we put on the joint; we have a screen, I can see what’s happening inside the joint. I can diagnose rotated cuff tears. We can see tears of your meniscus. We can see the arthritis. It’s even sensitive enough to pick up stress fractures in your foot. The really cool thing about ultrasound as well is that we can increase the accuracy of our treatments now. So, for example if I got to get a needle inside your hip, in the past is kind of realize, you know, is that the artery, is that a nerve, now I can see all the structures. We can miss the structures and go the structure we’re trying to hit whether it’s your ligament, your joint, parts of your spine. So, it means ultrasound that we got all of it treatments increase our safety and accuracy.
